Abstract
Using non-resonant, broadband transducers fabricated from PVDF films, frequency sweeps have been performed in 3He-B from nominally 10 to 60 MHz at nearly constant temperatures below 250 μK at about 1 bar. By studying the changes in the group velocity and attenuation as a function of frequency, the real squashing (J = 2+) mode has been identified in the T → 0 limit.
