Abstract

When it comes to monitoring the loads on structures, wireless load cells provide all the safety benefits of their cabled counterparts. A viable means of prevention is available through real-time measurement of the actual formwork loads, which is accomplished by installing load cells in the shoring system. Load cells are available from a number of vendors and are relatively inexpensive. Data from the can be collated and analyzed on-site. The load information can then be used to alert work crews to hazardous situations in time to correct them. The load information can also be logged as project documentation or for consideration in futuring shoring designs.
