Abstract

The first demonstration of a weak effective index-guided photonic crystal in a Bragg reflection waveguide laser diode achieves a normalized difference frequency generation efficiency of 255% W-1cm-2. A DFG tuning range of >450 nm covering past the E-S-C-L-U bands was demonstrated.
