Abstract

Breeding, propagation and survivorship of disease-transmitting arthropod vectors often depend on meteorological and environmental parameters. Statistical and biological modeling that incorporate satellite-acquired data provide useful tools for assessing and forecasting these diseases, assessing possible outbreak areas and providing vital information for policies and decision making.
