N2 - In order to characterize US communities in terms of social and environmental determinants of health (EDH) that affect veterans, the Social and Environmental Determinants of Health (SEDH) project, a collaboration between the Veterans Affairs (VA) Social Department and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), aims to identify, extract, and prepare datasets that include community variables known to be associated with health outcomes in veterans. The EDH project's responsibilities include investigating SEDH data, providing technical documentation for SEDH datasets, and automating the download, extraction, and preparation of the data through the creation of a software pipeline framework.
