Abstract

Northeastern University, MIT and ORNL are collaborating on research into advanced materials processing using uniform alloy droplets. Here, Teiichi Ando (Northeastern University), Jung-Hoon Chun (MIT) and Craig Blue (ORNL) explain the principles of microstructural control in materials processing with mono-sized alloy droplets, and discuss the potential of the droplet generation process in the production of advanced participate materials.
