Abstract

Transmission and reflection pump-probe-spectroscopy on ZnO/MgO heterostructures demonstrate a 600fs excitonic decay to impurity bound states located near the ZnO/MgO interface. Surface-plasmon-polaritons supported on a 30nm Ag film quench this process through weak coupling effects.
