Abstract

Three isomorphous linear trinuclear complexes [M3(DPyF)4] [PF6]2·4CH3CN·2Et2O, M=Cu(II), Co(II), Fe(II), DPyF=N,N′-di(2-pyridyl) formamidinate, have been synthesized and their structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The structure of the cations in these compounds consists of a linear, symmetrical chain of metal atoms. The central metal atom is coordinated by four nitrogen atoms that form a ruffled planar array while the outer atoms are six-coordinate.
