Abstract
This project, a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) partnership between A. O. Smith and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), was initiated to develop a heat pump water heater (HPWH) based on thermoelectric (TE) heat pump technology capable of seeing widespread market adoption by having a one-year payback versus electric resistance options.
