Abstract

The D0 collaboration has designed a new large-scale silicon strip tracking system for the D0 detector for Run2b of the Fermilab Tevatron collider, which will deliver an integrated luminosity in excess of 15 inverse femtobarns to the experiment. The design, prototyping work, and progress in construction of the detector will be presented. The tracker will employ about 2200 single sided silicon sensors and use the SVX4 readout chip.
