Abstract
A brief description of the ion source and hot spare stand (HSS) was provided. A summary of the source performance during front-end (FE) and Drift Tube LINAC (DTL) commissioning was also presented along with results of an initial high-current run on the HSS. The H - beam was extracted from the source by a potential of 65 kV across a ∼7 mm gap through an outlet electrode opening. The studies showed that towards the end of the run, additional cesiations no longer had an effect on beam current though the beam current was stable.
