Abstract

The mass measurement of 22Mg was performed with the ISOLTRAP Penning trap mass spectrometer at ISOLDE/CERN. It was observed that the measurement on 21Na and 22Mg yield a 21Na(p, γ)22Mg resonance energy into the 5713.9-KeV 2+ of ER=209.7(1.2). A comparative halftime value for the superallowed βdecay of 22Mg was obtained to further test the conservedvector current hypothesis. The results show 22Na contevt in ONe nova ejecta does not contradict the upper limits from observational searches.
