Abstract

This paper will use U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)'s Ann Arbor Transit Authority (AATA) database as an example to discuss the influence of data quality assurance on idle emission rates development. The major issues about data quality assurance for emission model include loss of data, erroneous Electronic Control Module (ECM) data, Global Positioning System (GPS) dropouts, and synchronization errors. On each step of data quality assurance, the influence of idle emission rates development will be presented too. This paper will demonstrate the important role of data quality assurance on emission model development.
