Funding

In the last 10 years of nuclear security and nonproliferation education at Texas A&M University, the NSSPI team was able to make a profound impact by feeding the pipeline with the next generation of nuclear security leaders. NSSPI was able to achieve its objectives outlined in its mission statement with the support and cooperation from several eminent educators, researchers and well-wishers from various departments of Texas A&M. Strong funding support and guidance from various agencies such as the National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE-NNSA), the Department of State-Partnership for Nuclear Security (DOS-PNS), the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DHS-DNDO), the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense-Nuclear Matters (DOD-DASD-NM), the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DOD-DTRA), the Airforce Technical Application Center (DOD-AFTAC), US national laboratories, and the private nuclear industry was pivotal in NSSPI’s success in achieving its education and workforce development mission. Please note that NSSPI was not successful in securing funding from the past four university consortia projects funded in the past by NNSA.
