Abstract

The temperature dependent (140-390K) complex dielectric and ferroelectric property of polycrystalline Sr doped BaTiO3 with composition Ba0.70Sr0.30TiO3 (BSTO) has been investigated at different frequencies. Similar to pristine BaTiO3, BSTO also exhibits three clear transitions in real and imaginary part of dielectric behavior ∼ 315 K, 220 K and 159 K. These all transitions shifted to lower temperature side as compared to pristine BaTiO3. These transitions correspond to different structural transitions cubic to tetragonal (315 K), tetragonal to orthorhombic (220 K) and orthorhombic to rhombohedral (159 K). The effect of dc bias is also explored in paraelectric and ferroelectric region. The temperature dependent ferroelectric loops also show that BSTO undergoes ferroelectric to paraelectric transition at ∼315 K.
