N2 - Dielectric resonators represent a promising path toward low loss metamaterials at optical frequencies. In this paper we describe a methodology for tailoring the design of metamaterial resonators as well as recovering their polarizibilies. Examples are provided spanning the range from an isolated resonator with designed scattering properties, to two- and three-dimensional metamaterial arrays exhibiting artificial magnetic properties.
