Abstract
The synthesis, crystal structure, and Raman study of the new dihydrogendiphosphate (NH4)2Zn(H2P 2O7) 2·2H2O, was reported. Three solutions were mixed in a beaker to prepare the compound, NH 4OH, ZnCl2·4H2O, and K4P 2O7. The Raman spectrum of the mentioned compound was measured in a back-scattering arrangment, under room conditions, using a high throughput holographic imaging filter and a thermoelectrically cooled CCD detector. It was observed that the longest hydrogen bonds occured between the hydroxyl species of the [H2P2O7] groups.
