Abstract

The pp → dπ+ reaction is studied at excess energies between 0.275 MeV and 3.86 MeV. Differential and total cross sections were measured employing a magnetic spectrometer with an acceptance of close to 4π in the center of mass system. From the total cross sections the S and P-wave contributions are deduced. The measured anisotropies between 0.008 and 0.29 suggest a non-negligible P-wave contribution even close to threshold. Compared to existing data the present results offer no evidence for chargesymmetry breaking or time reversal violation.
