Abstract

Studies of resonantly produced plasmas in the H-1NF heliac using a far-infrared scanning interferometer were presented. The effect of shifting the ion cyclotron resonant layer on the projection shape was studied. The assumption of Abel symmetry was found to be valid across a wide variety of configurations, which indicated that the plasma conforms closely to the computed flux surfaces.
