Abstract

Neutron diffraction and magnetic susceptibility under high pressure show clear correlations between structural phase transitions and superconductivity in La2-xBaxCuO4 with x=0.125. The bulk superconducting transition temperature Tc changes drastically at the pressures where the structural phase transitions take place. Characteristics of structure changes in the Sr-substituted system as well as under high pressure are presented.
