Abstract

We present the design and realization of strong light-matter coupling in monolithic metamaterial nanocavities. We achieve a Rabi frequency of 2.5 THz (corresponding to a polariton splitting of 20%) in a mode volume of 1.34×10^-3(λ/n)³.
