Abstract

The International Stellarator Confinement Database (ISCDB (1) ) is examined to study the impact of uncertainties on scaling expressions of the energy confinement time. Uncertainties for a subset of ISCDB are discussed and a probabilistic approach, i.e. Bayesian inference, is implemented. Results of the study indicate the relevance of incorporating the uncertainties properly.
