Abstract

We have developed a data acquisition system for general neutron scattering instruments with the first application being the triple-axis spectrometer. We have employed a modular architecture which allows easy expansion to handle new instruments and new hardware. The triple-axis implementation includes an intuitive GUI, a simple command structure, capabilities for remote operation, and expanded experimental capabilities through the use of a UB matrix for handling sample orientation and manipulation.
