Abstract

A physical model of light collection processes in scintillation detectors based on heavy crystals (PbWO₄) is analyzed on the basis of the existing and experimental data obtained in this work. The conclusion is made that it is necessary to take into account the light re-scattering in a crystal volume and light reflection from the photosensitive layer of the photomultiplier tube.
