Spatial distinguishability of photons produced by parametric down-conversion with a focused pump

Abstract

Focusing the pump in type-II SPDC not only increases the efficiency of photon collection with single-mode fibers, but also increases the spatial distinguishability of the photons, in some cases reducing the polarization entanglement.
