Abstract
Mesoporous carbon with homogeneously dispersed multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) are synthesized via a one-step "brick and mortar" soft-templating approach. Nanocomposites exhibit a reversible lithium storage capacity of 900 mA h g -1 and a good rate performance. Such homogeneous nanocomposites are ideal candidates for electric vehicle applications where high power and energy density are primary requirements.
