Abstract

A three-step method was employed to synthesize monodispersed silica encapsulated composite nanostructures with Pt nanoclusters (<1 nm) densely deposited on the surface of core hematite nanocubes by photoreduction of platinum salt, Pt/α-Fe2O3@SiO2. The nanostructured composite is an active catalyst for the reverse water-gas shift reaction and stable up to 600 °C.
