Abstract

Severe accident test station is deployed in order to facilitate examination studies on high-temperature steam oxidation of fuel and core component materials. A wide range of temperature, pressure, flow, and environmental conditions are captured within the various modules of the test station to enable materials testing under design basis and beyond design basis nuclear reactor accident conditions. A portion of the modules are available in a hot-cell facility to enable irradiated fuel testing.
