Abstract

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was employed to investigate the hydrogen bond network of the absorbed water within ionic polymer membranes. It was found that membranes containing larger portions of bound water exhibits higher proton conductivity and lower methanol permeability. (Table Presented).
