Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present a new type of a rosette piezotransducer. This type of a piezotransducer can generate and sense complex strain fields containing more damage-related information. Concept feasibility and its importance is demonstrated experimentally and numerically - through the analysis of a simple closed-form model. To the best knowledge of the authors, this is the first attempt to develop and test a rosette piezotransducer.
