Abstract

Classical and nonclassical aspects of coincidence imaging were studied. It was demonstrated that coincidence images formed with a fixed geometry, including ghost diffraction patterns do not reveal any distinctly nonclassical behavior. It was shown that strong correlations between pairs of conjugate variables are a signature of nonclassical behavior. The results show that the nonclassical signature is the ability to form sharp, high-contrast images in multiple planes with a fixed source in the context of coincidence imaging.
