Abstract

Crystals of C-reactive protein from Limulus polyphemus have been grown both with and without calcium. The space group for the calcium-free crystals is I422 or I4₁22, and the cell parameters are a = b = 173·33 (4) Å, c = 98·81 (3) Å. The crystals diffract to at least 2·8 Å resolution and are suitable for detailed structural studies.
