    Abstract

Table III summarizes the maximum DF values required to meet the federal regulations from the processing of all fuel types in this study. The DFs shown in this table contain no engineering margin and could differ by a factor > 2 if different site-specific or reprocessing-facility-specific assumptions are used. In terms of establishing practicable target DFs for the capture processes under development, we believe that DF values three to five times those shown under the 10% dose allocation columns in Table III should be considered. These DFs are within the range of DFs that are reported for the current capture technologies for the volatile radionuclides [7].
