Abstract

An investigation of the nonlinear propagation of positron-acoustic solitary waves in an unmagnetized plasma consisting of cold dynamic positron fluid, stationary positive ions, superthermally distributed hot positrons in the presence of superthermally distributed trapped hot electrons is examined. A KdV-like Schamel equation is obtained using the reductive perturbation technique. The influence of different plasma parameters such as the superthermality of hot electrons and hot positrons, trapping parameter β etc. on the propagation properties of positron-acoustic waves is considered.
