Abstract

The lattice dynamics of the ordered γ-TiH(D) and γ-ZrH(D) phases with essentially one-dimensional H{single bond}H (D-D) interaction have been studied by inelastic neutron scattering. The bound multiphonon states (biphonon, triphonon, tetraphonon and their combinations) were observed in the spectra, and the binding energies were obtained from the experimental data.
