Abstract
A PC-based serial data receiver-decoder that decodes biphase-mark encoded data is described. Its design philosophy, data format, and hardware implementation are described. Two serial-interface board designs as well as the advantages and disadvantages of both are discussed. The important software features implemented for control of this system are described. Some application information is also discussed relative to intrusion detection and environmental monitoring.
