Abstract

The single layer of organic optical microcavity with one dimensional distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs) was fabricated. The PL emission properties of the microcavity were explored at the two sides, which show different characteristics due to the asymmetric structure. The PL emission peak of Alq film is at 513 nm with a half width of 78 nm. Compared with the Alq film, the emission of microcavity from the top DBR side shows a narrow peak at 494 nm with a half width of 4.6 nm and an enhanced factor of 1.2. The emission peaks from the bottom side are located at 494 nm with a half width of 4.6 nm and an enhanced factor of 11, and 606 nm with a half width of 6.6 nm.
