Abstract

Neutron scattering measurements have been performed on the (Formula presented)(Formula presented) quasi-one-dimensional system (Formula presented) which consists of edge-sharing (Formula presented) chains. We observed that the chains show an antiferromagnetic long-range ordering below (Formula presented) with ferromagnetic correlations within the chain. In the antiferromagnetically ordered phase, an ordering of oxygen moments ((Formula presented) as well as that of Cu moments ((Formula presented) is observed. The oxygen moments are coupled with Cu moments ferromagnetically.
