Abstract

The Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire (IRSN) is the French public service expert in nuclear and radiation risks with activities that cover all the related scientific and technical issues. IRSN provides expertise in support of radiation protection and nuclear safety risks. A great deal of research work carried out at IRSN concerns the improvement of computational tools and data used on a daily basis by nuclear safety assessment experts. Particularly in this paper the approach used to improve data quality and its uncertainties is presented. Computation tools and nuclear data evaluation methodology are discussed.
