Abstract

Abstract: The nonlinear propagation properties of dust ion acoustic breathers in an unmagnetized nonthermal plasma with electrons featuring Vasyliunas–Cairns (VC) distribution has been studied in present investigation. By extending the work [1], from KP equation we have derived nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) and from its rational solutions, breathers have been studied. It is observed that different parameters such as nonthermality as well as superthermality of electrons, dust to ions number density ratio and temperature ratio of cold to hot electrons modify the propagation properties of the breathers. The findings of the present investigation may be useful in understanding the insight into the physics of nonlinear structures in the Saturn magnetosphere’s environment.
