Abstract
A noncontact, nonintrusive, imaging technique is proposed for monitoring the curing of epoxy resins. Electrical capacitance tomography was employed to characterize changes in the distribution of electrical permittivity of epoxy specimens during curing. The results showed that permittivity varied in tandem with curing time. These changes are validated by observing the same changes in their mechanical properties as determined by ultrasonic testing.
