Non-singular near-touching plasmon modes in nanocube dimers

Abstract

Through investigating plasmons in dimers near the transition from touching to non-touching configurations, we reveal that the two-dimensional touching area makes the transition non-singular, while a one-dimensional or zero-dimensional touching region produces a singular transition.
