Abstract
New P,N-bidentate aminophosphite ligands OCH2CH2N(R)PO(CH2)(n)NMe2 (2a R = Me, n = 2; 2b R = t-Bu, n = 2; 3 R = t-Bu, n = 3) have been obtained and characterized. Complexation of all the ligands with [PdCl2(COD)] (COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) has been investigated. Ligands 2a,b have been found to form mononuclear chelate complexes [PdCl2(PN)]. Ligand 3 forms a binuclear compound [PdCl2(PN)]2, in which molecules 3 act as P,N-bidentate bridges. The obtained compounds have been characterized by multinuclear NMR, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and sedimentation analysis. The molecular structure of [PdCl2L] (L = 2b) has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.
