Abstract

The crystal structure and the mechanism of proton transport for the MeXAO4 (Me=Cs, Rb; X=H, D; A=S, Se) family of protonic conductors is analyzed on the basis of the results obtained for CsHSO4 and its deuterated derivative. Some peculiarities of the superionic phase transition are explained. The characteristics of the proton diffusion are determined quantitatively.
