Neutron scattering studies of a frustrated spinel antiferromagnet in zero and high magnetic field

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A review is given of the neutron scattering studies on a frustrated spinel antiferromagnet CdCr2O4. As observed in ZnCr 2O4, which has been most extensively studied in the Cr-based spinel oxides, CdCr2O4 also shows an antiferromagnetic phase transition and a structural phase transition simultaneously, indicating a strong spin-lattice coupling. The magnetic structure of CdCr2O4was determined by neutron scattering studies. The neutron scattering study in magnetic field up to 10 T indicates an orientation of magnetic domains.
