Abstract

A temperature controlled sample cell suitable for the study of biomimetic materials using neutron diffraction was described. This device is capable of exerting hydrostatic pressures of upto 370 MPa. The advantage of this sample cell over other high pressure cells is that it allows for the use of samples aligned on a solid aligned on a solid support and allows for the clear differentiation between in-plane and out-of-plane structure.
