Abstract

This paper proposes an inverter topology with high frequency link, for conversion of low voltage DC at about 30V to 415V, 50Hz, three phase AC for standalone inverter systems. To establish suitability, the proposed topology is compared with another widely used topology based on practically relevant considerations. Devices and components have been identified for each of the topologies and actual device parasitics have been considered for loss estimation and efficiency computation. In addition, the paper also proposes and studies a proportional-resonant (PR) voltage control structure for the proposed topology for mitigating effects of non-ideal operating conditions such as unbalanced and non-linear loading.
