Abstract

Since beginning neutron production operation in 2006 at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), one of the goals for the Accelerator Operations group has been to minimize beam trips. The beam trips which occur with the highest frequency are due to errant beam in the Super Conducting Linac (SCL). The process of minimizing the amount of errant beam and the frequency of faults will be described.
