Abstract

The microstructural evolutions in converting epitaxy Tl2Ba2CaCu2Ox (Tl-2212) films to HgBa2CaCu2O6+δ (Hg-1212) thin films was investigated using cation-exchange process. The evolution of the crystalline structure and surface morphology of the film was also investigated. It was found that the Hg-1212 films could inherit epitaxy and surface morphology from their Tl-2212 precursor films at the low perturbation energy limit.
