Abstract

The measurement of absolute cross sections for electron-impact excitation of the 3s²S→3p²P transition in Al²⁺ was done near threshold. The merged electron-ion beams energy-loss technique was used for this purpose. The results were found to be in agreement with the close-coupling calculations.
